IRT Foundation funds research reflecting the key issues critical to ageing well in Australia.

Since its establishment in 2009, the Foundation has committed over $1.9 million in research grants into issues such as dementia, active ageing, integration of technology into aged care and supporting people who wish to remain at home. View our successful projects.

The Research Grant Program is an annual competitive grants program. Information about applying, the assessment and reporting process is available here.

We want to ensure older people benefit from the latest findings so we assist researchers in disseminating research outcomes. We also support information being made publicly available through journal publications, media, website and distribution through industry networks and through IRT Group's operational staff.

The Foundation also facilitates partnerships with other organisations such as the Australian Association of Gerontology, Emerging Researchers in Ageing and the University of Wollongong.
