IRT Foundation launched a new YouTube channel to provide relevant news and information to over 55s on 1 October 2015, International Day of the Older Person.

The Good Life YouTube channel delivers professionally produced, commercial-free monthly episodes on everything from news, people profiles, lifestyle and finance. The initiative is one of IRT Foundation’s key education and advocacy initiatives.

Over 55s are the fastest growing YouTube demographic, but there's little non-commercial Australian content available for this audience. We know that social isolation is an issue for many older Australians, so the concept is The Good Life provides an incentive to start or continue engaging in social media and online communities.

As a YouTube channel, older Australians can easily access useful information their smartphone or tablet when it suits them.

As well as news, the episodes highlight some of the remarkable things older Australians are doing, in order to encourage and empower viewers.
