IRT Foundation enhances the lives of older Australians through social and civic participation.
We want older Australians who are engaged and live active, purpose-filled lives.
We support older Australians to participate in paid or unpaid employment through our Mature Workforce Participation programs.
We partner with the community to develop volunteer programs, including programs to assist in delivering IRT Foundation's Social Impact. Our Community Grants program funded many community groups working with volunteers to encourage social participation for older Australians.
IRT Foundation was a driving force in the formation of the Age-Friendly Illawarra Alliance, inspired by Dr Alexandre Kalache's visit to the Illawarra Shoalhaven region in 2014. The alliance steering committee members include IRT Foundation, Edmiston Jones GBB, Illawarra Pilot Joint Organisation, Healthy Cities Illawarra, NSW Family and Community Services and the University of Wollongong
