IRT Group is a social purpose organisation that has supported older Australians for almost 50 years.
IRT Group provides aged care, home care and lifestyle solutions to customers in NSW, Qld and the ACT. One third of the surplus generated by IRT Group's business is given back to the community via IRT's social impact activities.
IRT Group launched IRT Research Foundation in 2009 aligning with IRT's mission, to create communities where seniors achieve their optimum quality of life. IRT Research Foundation funded research projects to assist in a greater understanding of the ageing process and the care and wellbeing of older people.
We've committed over $2 million to research since 2009, partnering with leading researchers.
IRT Foundation continues to base our work on evidence. We week out best practice that is backed up by sound research. Where relevant data is not available, we invest in research to maximise our social impact.
From 2015-2017 IRT Foundation injected over $380 thousand into community groups through Community Grants that encourage social participation for older people.
Education and Advocacy
During 2013-2016 we hosted several Speaker Series to drive the conversations around the issues older people face such as age-discrimination in the workplace, redefining retirement and age-friendly cities.
We are a founding member of the Age-Friendly Illawarra Alliance.
We've held an annual Gala Ball since 2014 to raise much needed funds for our programs.
